There is so much about this Old Davie School House wedding that feels like a dream. Ever since Erik and I met Allie and Jimbo back in 2011, we’ve known that they were amazing people, and we’ve been so lucky to be able to call them our friends.
I met Allie when while we were working for a children’s speech and occupational therapy center in Davie, Florida and knew right a way that she was one of my kind. When I met Jimbo soon after, I could see how he was every bit as incredible as she was. They were like two souls made from the same star. Fate couldn’t have put together a more perfect pair.
On this sunny spring day in the last week of March these two tied the knot, shaded by lush greenery and surrounded by love. The wedding was so personal and unique to their story. Allie wore her mother’s wedding dress, put flowers in her hair, and got ready at her childhood home. The bunting that cascaded around the ceremony site was made by Allie’s mom and grandmother. Allie and Jimbo’s sweet, adorable pup, Wolfie, was their well-behaved flower girl. They danced to David Bowie’s Heroes, crowned their cake of Krispy Kreme doughnuts with two newlywed R2-D2s, and used travel postcards as table numbers.
It was so them and it was perfect.
