Being a wedding photographer in New York, I’ve been lucky enough to photograph inside some of the most iconic venues in the world. Out of all the buildings in the city, the Plaza Hotel is the one makes me feel like I’m stepping back in time to a more elegant era.
The rolled out red carpet just outside the gilded front doors (the same doors that greeted Marilyn Monroe and Frank Sinatra), the sparkling chandeliers, the dreamy chaise in every Edwardian suite; my heart literally skips a beat just thinking about it.
The perfect beginning to a happily ever after.
When I met Aida and JP the day of their engagement session I knew we’d become fast friends. Aida is like my personal fashion muse. The last time we had brunch together, I swear she looked more like she belonged on a runaway than in a diner.
When she told me about her wedding day vision, I was in awe of everything from her lavender color palette to JP’s white tuxedo jacket.
Their New York City wedding day began with getting ready at the historic Plaza Hotel, followed by a horse drawn carriage ride through Central Park. Aida wore a jaw-dropping trumpet style Oscar de la Renta wedding gown and a Twigs and Honey hair adornment surrounded by a lace veil.
When I look at Aida, I see all the grace of Audrey Hepburn. When I look at JP, I see all the swagger of James Dean. When they’re together, they radiate.
